Voici un jeu tout simple pour jouer avec nos chiens. Il apprend au chien à recevoir des récompenses positives pour ses initiatives et sa curiosité.

Voici un bref résumé des premières étapes.
📦 📦 📦· Découpez les côtés d'une boîte pour qu'elle mesure 7,5 cm de haut.
📦 📦 📦· Placez-la au milieu d'une pièce et félicitez votre chien (récompense, clic) chaque fois qu'il s'en approche.
📦 📦 📦· Faites de même pour marcher dedans, la mordre, ou retirer.
📦 📦 📦· Toute interaction volontaire avec la boîte, sans ordre, est récompensée.
D’une certaine manière, le chien reçoit un renforcement positif pour avoir exploré quelque chose de nouveau par lui-même.

Playing with a box
So many of the training sessions we have with our dogs involve teaching dog’s behaviors which help them live with us. We are telling them what to do and how so that they can adapt to our lifestyles. And most of them are delighted to learn.
But here is a game that doesn’t teach them anything that we need. It is a true game. In fact, it trains the dog to receive positive reinforcement for showing initiative and curiosity, with no further purpose.

But here is a short summary of the first steps.
Cut the sides of a box down so that it is three inches high around. Put it in the middle of a room and praise your dog (reward, click) whenever they approach it. Then, do the same for stepping in it, or mouthing it, or put a treat in the box. Any interaction with the box that your dog does voluntarily without a command, receives the reward.
In a way, the dog is receiving positive reinforcement for exploring something new on their own.
