Cette histoire pourrait vous aider à comprendre certaines difficultés rencontrées avec vos propres animaux de compagnie, même si elle concerne un éléphant.

Il était une fois un homme qui partit en Afrique pour créer un sanctuaire pour éléphants. Dans ce sanctuaire, cet homme (Lawrence Anthony) avait un grand mâle souvent grincheux, réactif, voire violent, et cet homme était très inquiet pour le bien-être de son personnel, en particulier. Finalement, après avoir longtemps évité le problème, il décida de mettre fin à la vie de l'éléphant. Rien de ce qu'il avait fait pour l’aider n'avait fonctionné.

Mais à sa grande horreur, après la mort de l'éléphant, l'homme découvrit que le pauvre animal souffrait terriblement, avec une dent facilement réparable.
La morale de l'histoire est donc la suivante : considérez que votre animal réagit pour des raisons qui vous sont peut-être invisibles, ou que vous n'avez pas envisagées.

Elephant Story
Once upon a time, there was a man who moved to Africa to create a sanctuary for elephants. This is a story which might help you understand some of the difficulties with your own pets, even though it is about an elephant. This man (his name is***) had a large male who was often grumpy, reactive, and even violent, and this man was very worried about the well-being of his staff, especially. And finally, after avoiding the problem for a very long time, he decided that he had to end the elephant’s life. Nothing the man had done to help him had worked. But to his horror, after the elephant was dead, the man discovered that the poor thing was in terrible agony with an easily fixable tooth repair.
And so, the moral of the story, is consider that your animal is reacting for reasons which may be invisible to you, or that you have not considered.
